PsycReality’s growing network of world-class academic partnerships welcomes yet another distinguished institution — Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), a globally renowned university celebrated for its culture of applied research, technological innovation, and interdisciplinary thinking. The collaboration between PsycReality and RIT reflects a natural alignment of values: a belief that meaningful progress in mental health must be driven by evidence, creativity, and the fearless curiosity of the next generation of researchers.
Signing ceremony was held at RIT Dubai campus. Bilal Awan, CEO PsycReality and Dr. Yousef Al-Assaf, President Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai signed the MoU.
True to that spirit, a young researcher at RIT dove deep into the emerging science of immersive technologies, conducting a comprehensive literature review exploring the application of virtual reality in two clinically significant areas, claustrophobia and eating disorders, with a particular focus on binge eating. The outcome was a collaboratively published white paper, produced in partnership with PsycReality, the University of Birmingham, and Curtin University, a truly international academic effort that underscores how global collaboration is accelerating understanding in the mental health technology space.
What makes PsycReality’s relationship with RIT particularly special, however, goes beyond publications and research outputs. PsycReality has become a proud and recurring presence at RIT’s annual Psych Days, a flagship conference that brings together students, academics, and professionals from across the psychological sciences. Year after year, PsycReality takes to the stage to present its latest innovations and developments in mental health technology, inspiring students with a vision of what becomes possible when science, empathy, and cutting-edge technology converge.
It is this blend of academic rigour and authentic human connection that defines PsycReality’s partnership with RIT and makes it one to watch.
