Dubai, 29/01/2025: PsycReality and Heriot-Watt University have announced the renewal of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a further five years, building on the success of an initial two-year partnership that laid the groundwork for meaningful academic and industry collaboration.
The renewed agreement marks a significant evolution in scope. What began as a focused engagement with Heriot-Watt University’s psychology department at its Dubai campus will now expand to encompass the faculties of computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and mathematics reflecting the growing intersection of mental health innovation and emerging technology.
Bilal Awan, Chief Executive Officer of PsycReality, and Dr. Matthew Sukumaran, representing Heriot-Watt University’s Dubai campus, formally signed the agreement and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a deep, cross-disciplinary collaboration. Both parties expressed their dedication to jointly designing and executing research projects, driving technological innovation, and producing peer-reviewed publications in partnership.
Notably, the renewed MoU extends the collaboration beyond Dubai, with plans to engage campuses in Edinburgh and Malaysia, creating a truly global research network spanning multiple faculties and geographies.
